Hourly Salary Range: $15.47 – $18.57 (Target)

• Greeting guests warmly and ensuring a positive event experience.
• Setting up tables, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized banquet space.
• Delivering food and drinks promptly, clearing plates efficiently, and addressing special guest requests with professionalism.
• Cross‑trains on activities such as cashier at concession stands and bartending.
• Reviewing customer food service needs on the day of scheduled meeting and setting food tables accordingly.
• Acting as point of contact with customers for last‑minute food and beverage changes during meetings.
• Assisting in food preparation, as needed.
• Maintaining records of actual food and beverage served and providing information to Banquet supervisor.
• Performing every food function to ensure customer expectations are met; reporting results to the Food Services Coordinator.
• Monitoring food functions and reporting results to the Coordinator.
• Noting trends in customer preferences for food and drinks and advising the Banquet supervisor.
• Leading contract food service attendants during large meetings.
• Maintaining inventory of all dishes, glasses, flatware, props, and table skirts; preparing reports for the Banquet supervisor.
• Receiving and signing for all dry storage items delivered to Food Sales and Services by outside vendors; checking items against invoices.
• Assisting in taking and end‑of‑month inventories of food and beverage stock.
• Maintaining regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work schedule.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

The incumbent must determine and set priorities to meet multiple customer needs and determine the best timing for preparing and serving foods.

• Knowledge of professional table‑side service, buffet setting, cash register operations, and procedures.
• Skill in folding napkins; setting formal dining tables; utilizing props creatively; providing dining and table‑side customer service.
• No formal education required.
• One (1) year of experience in large‑scale food service; minimum 18 years of age.
• State of Texas driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire); food handlers and Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission (TABC) certification (within 30 days of entry).

• Must pass a drug test, driver’s license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check (if required), and social security number verification check.
• Physical demands: standing, walking, finger dexterity, lifting up to 25 pounds, operating kitchen equipment, etc.
• Work both indoors and outdoors; exposure to moderate noise and hazardous substances.

• $50 uniform allowance.
• Membership in Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with 2:1 city match.
