THIS POSITION IS FOR WYNDHAM COURT OF PLANO ASSISTED LIVING

The Cook performs specified duties in order to maintain high-quality food preparation, production, service and portion control. THIS POSITION IS PART TIME $20 PER HOUR

Other duties may be assigned.

• prepares and cooks food for residents
• monitors food service for nutritional, safety, sanitation and quality standards
• frequently uses microwave, stove, oven, can openers, dishwashers, slicers, grease traps, vent hoods, and freezers
• cleans and inspects equipment, appliances, and work areas in order to ensure cleanliness and functional operation
• prepares major meals by following recipes, determining food quantities and following meal time schedules
• follows all food safety regulations

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 0-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• valid Food Handler certification
• ability to multi-task

Communication Skills ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

• must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
• is frequently required to talk or hear
• is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Specific vision abilities required by this job include:

• close vision
• distance vision
• peripheral vision
• depth perception
• ability to adjust focus

While performing the duties of this job:

• the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather)
• the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
