Role Overview

A Beauty Team Leader brings a guest‑first mindset, strong team development, and operational excellence to create inspiring beauty experiences. You will lead a team, deliver guest experience commitments, manage daily workload, and support merchandise protection, safety, and security.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments, ensuring every team member understands and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable, and recognize great guest experience moments.
  • Understand elevated service standards in the Beauty Studio and partner with leaders to model and maintain expectations.
  • Instill behaviors around guest engagement, balancing task and service, promoting loyalty programs, and driving sales.
  • Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align team on the right behaviors and execution, celebrating wins and delivering results.
  • Understand sales goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, sales floor displays, events, and promotions.
  • Assign daily tasks to TMs based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, ensuring alignment with weekly and monthly priorities.
  • Lead a team providing a seamless experience for guests across all Beauty areas and demonstrate a culture of best practices during onboarding and learning.
  • Develop consultants and advisors who are knowledgeable and passionate about Beauty, supporting leaders with hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
  • Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions, participating in hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices, creating equitable experiences, and maintaining a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Lead a safety culture, model and recognize safe behaviors, identify hazards, assist with incident response, and report injuries timely and accurately.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance in‑store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage, and application of best practices.
  • Follow all safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store‑level leadership on duty responsibilities to enable the guest experience during assigned shifts.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs and perform other duties based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 years or older.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames.
  • Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
  • Independently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and work as part of a team.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
  • Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other conditions while performing job duties, including carry‑out and drive‑up.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Climb up and down ladders as needed; lift or move merchandise up to 15 pounds routinely, and up to 44 pounds when necessary without assistance.
  • Variable work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance.
