Institutional & Specialty Sales Consultant, Cardiology - Lubbock, TX Purpose
The Institutional and Specialty Sales (ISS) team leads and drives launch activities for cardiovascular-renal indications in the CVR portfolio. Responsibilities include driving demand, clinical education, and sales through a strategic business plan for hospitals, health systems, cardiologists, and nephrologists in both institutional and community settings.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities- Drive clinical demand, education, and sales while building deep understanding of disease state, unmet needs, and treatment options to educate healthcare professionals and stakeholders on unique product benefits.
- Build institutional advocacy to support formulary/pathway/protocol adoption of cardiovascular-renal brands to ensure product pull‑through.
- Develop, co‑create, and implement strategic business plans for prioritized institutions, considering local market dynamics.
- Demonstrate expertise in disease state, marketplace, competitors, and cross‑functional activities, using analytical rigor to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Build key relationships with institutional stakeholders (e.g., C and D Suite, Head of Pharmacy, Head of Quality), cardiologists, and nephrologists.
- Manage the P&T committee processes at priority institutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and the Area Customer Squad to develop and execute strategic partnerships.
- Support Area General Managers with strategic projects as needed.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance performance and maintain high proficiency.
- Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying ethical standards in daily work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Deep expertise and understanding of cardiovascular and/or renal therapeutic areas.
- Experience launching new products and product indications.
- Excellent facilitation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- Compliance with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., vaccinations, trainings).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, business, or related field.
- 5+ years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience in competitive landscapes.
- Experience selling in institutional and clinic settings and navigating the P&T committee process.
- Experience establishing and pulling‑through inpatient to outpatient protocols.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $120,960 and $181,440. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement plans, PTO, sick leave, and more.
LocationLubbock, TX (West Texas including Amarillo, San Angelo, and Wichita Falls). Travel up to 50% within the territory. The role is residence‑based and requires domiciliation within the territory.
