Job DescriptionCoffman Specialty Building Products is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Inside Sales and Customer Service Representative to support our building materials division. This role is responsible for managing customer accounts, answering calls, generating quotes, processing orders, and providing exceptional service to contractors, distributors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of construction products and sales processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage inbound sales inquiries via phone, email and develop relationships with contractors, builders, and distributors
- Prepare accurate quotes based on customer requirements, drawings, and specifications
- Process sales orders, ensuring pricing, product availability, and delivery timelines are accurate
- Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and purchasing teams to ensure timely fulfillment
- Follow up on quotes to convert opportunities into orders and upsell when appropriate
- Resolve customer issues related to orders, pricing discrepancies, and deliveries
- Support outside sales team by managing customer accounts and tracking project progress from quote to completion
- Monitor backorders and communicate updates proactively to customers
- 1-2 years of inside sales experience (building materials, construction, or related industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction products (e.g., railing systems, lumber, hardware, or similar materials)
- Experience with ERP systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read basic construction drawings or project specs is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
