The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving business growth by developing strategic relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and managing dealer relationships. The BDM will utilize consultative selling skills to educate, motivate, and train new and existing Hyundai/Kia/Genesis dealers in their assigned district, leveraging HCA’s retail, lease, CPO, and Commercial Financing Programs (floor plan, real estate, working capital, and sign loans) to achieve annual sales objectives and profitability goals.
Driving is an essential function of this position. This role is also responsible for acquiring new business by developing and executing the region’s insurance growth objectives through dealer conversion to branded F&I products, programs, and deal structures, and for implementing new products and services launched by the company.
- Attain HCA business goals within an assigned territory by promoting HCA programs to stimulate dealer utilization of HCA products and services.
- Drive standard, subvened, and lease penetration, as well as CPO/used penetration and funding initiatives.
- Promote LSA activity, eContracting, customer loyalty, and leads.
- Collaborate with the sales and product design team to meet sales numbers and profit goals.
- Provide competitive data feedback and creative solutions to support sales growth.
- Sell the features and benefits of HCA Commercial Financing Programs, maintaining current relationships and conquering new commercial portfolio targets while mitigating risk and maintaining ROA targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing dealers and pursue new business opportunities.
- Educate, enroll, and implement new programs and services at assigned dealerships to achieve financial growth and expand market presence.
- Train dealership personnel (GM, GSM, Sales Managers, Finance Managers, and other staff) on new technology and digitalization of HCA products and services such as program updates, application submission, funding and compliance, eContracting, eRehash, remarketing, and self‑service functionality.
- Develop and execute the region’s insurance growth objectives through dealer conversion to the branded F&I product, program, and deal structure.
- Implement and drive dealer F&I and store training to support the insurance product and performance so that stores maximize production.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Sales training experience.
- Captive automotive finance experience dedicated to a specific OEM (plus).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and non‑technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally, including with OEMs, to leverage HCA’s products and services for mutual growth and success.
- Excellent sales presentation skills.
- Ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships.

- Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.

- Employee must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Job requires daily driving and the capacity to travel long distances, including across assigned regions, meetings, and events.
- Some overnight travel may be required depending on business needs.
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and using a computer. Work is performed in an office and/or external field environment. Must be willing to relocate. Overnight travel required.
