Field Support Technician

What You’ll Do

As a Field Support Technician, you’ll get hands‑on experience while supporting essential low‑voltage and network infrastructure projects across the country.

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain low‑voltage systems, including fiber optics, copper cabling, construction/infrastructure components, and telecommunications systems.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Work with industry‑standard tools and testing equipment.
• Build expertise in cabling, networking fundamentals, and system integration.
• Partner with experienced technicians who help develop your technical abilities.
• Deliver excellent service while representing Black Box at customer sites.
• Follow all safety protocols and industry standards on each project.

• Recent vocational/technical training OR strong interest in technology, electronics, or mechanical work.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, systems, and installation techniques.
• Solid problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and within a high‑performing team.
• A positive attitude and motivation to build a long‑term technical career.
• Basic knowledge of networking, construction principles, or low‑voltage systems is a bonus, but not required.

• Job Type: Full‑time

  40 hours/week + overtime as needed (project dependent)
• Travel: 100% (required)

  Plano, TX (75093) – Relocation before start date preferred.
