Position: Heavy Truck & Equipment Technician I, II or Senior

Rate and Compensation

The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician I, Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician II or Senior Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician classification.

The target annual rate for the Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician I is between $46,979 - $68,123; depending on qualifications

The target annual rate for the Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician II is between $51,792 - $75,102; depending on qualifications

The target annual rate for the Senior Heavy Truck and Equipment Technician is between $57,107 - $82,810; depending on qualifications

Job Details

The City of Plano is looking for innovative and knowledgeable people to join our team as a Heavy Truck & Equipment Technician in the Fleet & Equipment Services division of the Public Works Department.

As a Technician, you will keep our City's fleet vehicles on the road by maintaining and repairing City vehicles.

A successful candidate will have:
  • 3 years' experience in vehicle maintenance & repair,
  • Texas Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within six months of hire)
  • Two (2) Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications (or able to obtain within one year of hire)
  • Texas Department of Public Safety/Emissions Inspection Certificate within six (6) months of hire

Additional Information

* Hours for two positions are 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM, Monday through Thursday and one is 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
