Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
Shift: 1st
What's a typical day as Facilities Maintenance Technician? You'll be:
- Performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems under the direction of the Facilities Superintendent
- Assisting in the management, planning, and operation of municipal facilities, including inventory of buildings and operating systems
- Conducting systematic monthly preventative maintenance on HVAC and generator systems, including filter replacement, lubrication, and maintaining logs
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance on municipal HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems using appropriate tools
- Reconfiguring, installing, and positioning modular office furniture and equipment as needed
- Preparing surfaces for painting and applying paints, stains, and varnishes
- Responding to service requests, general work order requests, and assisting in monitoring contractors and service agreements
- Adhering to all personnel, safety, and department policies and procedures
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have working knowledge of municipal buildings, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry operations (must-have)
- Are able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work well with all levels of employees (must-have)
- Are comfortable working in confined spaces and on elevated equipment up to 50 feet (must-have)
- Possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite (preferred)
- Can follow oral and written directives and perform strenuous physical activities such as bending, kneeling, stooping, and working in adverse environments (must-have)
- Value teamwork, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate a courteous and respectful demeanor toward coworkers and the public (must-have)
- Have prior experience in facilities or building maintenance (preferred)
