Layout Technician

We're looking for a Layout / Staging Technician to work at our Plano, TX facility. The role involves logging into the appropriate software database, checking out hardware, laying out hardware and materials according to drawings, drilling and installing parts onto the back panel, cutting/enclosing enclosures, installing required hardware, designating loose-shipped items, returning unused hardware, managing paperwork, and completing the layout check sheet provided.

• Login to the appropriate software database based on the project number as shown on the drawings.
• Check out all hardware from the parts staging area.
• Layout all hardware and materials according to the drawings provided.
• Drill and install all parts onto the back panel.
• Make sure all empty boxes are kept until the job ships.
• Make sure all paperwork for each part is kept with the panel.
• Cut and hole-punch enclosures according to the provided drawings.
• Install all required hardware on the enclosure.
• Locate and designate any hardware that needs to be “loose shipped” with the project.
• Return any unused hardware for the back panel or enclosure.
• Complete the layout check sheet supplied with drawings.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years of prior experience preferred.
• Position requires significant bending and standing.
• Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds at any time.
• Ability to read wiring schematics.
• Experience with UL 508A and NEC.
• Good project and time management skills.

• Shop is open Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm.
• Work schedule:
  
  Monday through Friday, 8‑hour shift, overtime available.
• Weekend availability:
  Saturdays from 6:00 am – 2:00 pm.
• Overtime pay is available for hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week.

Job Type: Full‑time

Salary: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
