Responsibilities

Are you ready to play a key role in keeping Plano safe and functional? We’re looking for passionate and skilled individuals to join the City of Plano Public Works team! As a Maintenance Worker, you’ll be hands‑on in preparing and securing job sites, setting up traffic control devices, and maintaining essential tools and equipment. You’ll help repair and maintain streets, alleys, sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains while operating equipment like vibratory compactors, jackhammers, and more.

From pothole repairs to debris removal, this is your chance to make a real impact in your community. With a commitment to safety, teamwork, and consistent attendance, you can help ensure Plano remains a vibrant and thriving city.

Classification and Compensation

Public Works Maintenance Worker I: $18.81 – $22.57 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Public Works Maintenance Worker II: $19.75 – $23.70 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Public Works Maintenance Worker III: $20.74 – $24.89 per hour, depending on qualifications.
