Automotive Lead Service Technician; Shop Foreman

Location: Genesis of Plano, TX

The Huffines Service Technician Team Lead is responsible for and acts as mentor and leader of a service technician team. The Team Lead is considered a subject matter expert and thoroughly understands the scope and scale of all related service technician work.

This position offers a flag hour pay plan with an additional base pay for the leadership role. Performance-based incentives will also be available for meeting shop productivity and MPI (Multi-Point Inspection).

• Leads the technician team in prioritizing RO dispatching each day
• Coordinates all shop dispatching with technicians based on each tech's skill level and current workload.
• Set performance goals with the technicians that focus on increasing hours
• Provide team member training and promote growth and learning opportunities
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins and completes specified training
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Adheres to all associated federal, state, and local regulations
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Previous supervisory or team lead experience (2 years minimum)
• Previous experience as main line flag technician (3 years minimum)
• Some post-secondary automotive training
• High school diploma or GED
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
• Results-oriented self-starter
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated desire to learn new processes and adapt quickly
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times
• Proficiency in computer skills
