As a Critical Engineer at JLL, you'll become the frontline defender of mission-critical infrastructure that powers the digital backbone of modern business. This isn't just a maintenance position—it's a role where your technical expertise directly protects millions of dollars in digital infrastructure and ensures uninterrupted operations for essential services around the clock. You'll master sophisticated building systems including fire/life safety, advanced HVAC, electrical infrastructure such as UPS, ATS, generators, and primary switch gear that simply cannot fail.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Command the nerve center of building systems including mission-critical fire/life safety, advanced HVAC, sophisticated electrical infrastructure, and emergency backup systems that protect valuable digital assets
- Act as a technical detective who analyzes complex system operations, identifies problems before they escalate, and implements swift solutions that prevent costly downtime
- Execute precision installations and repairs across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems with the versatility of a multi-disciplined technical expert
- Serve as the guardian of critical equipment including UPS systems, generators, and specialized cooling infrastructure, ensuring flawless operation at all times
- Orchestrate and oversee contractor activities to ensure all work meets the exacting standards required in critical environments
- Champion meticulous documentation practices and emergency protocols that safeguard operations during high-pressure situations
- Provide after-hours and weekend coverage as needed to maintain continuous operations and avoid client disruption
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in data center or critical facility environments, specifically with UPS systems, emergency generators, and switch-gear
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency with computer applications including Word and Excel
- Proven track record of delivering outstanding internal and external customer service
- Availability to work after hours and weekends as required to maintain uninterrupted operations
Preferred qualifications:
- Master or Journeyman Electrical Certification or active Electrician License
- Additional technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or building automation systems
- Experience with building management systems and computerized maintenance management software
- Knowledge of fire/life safety systems and emergency response protocols in critical environments
- Familiarity with precision cooling systems and raised floor infrastructure common in data centers
Location:
Plano, TX
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, with required evening and weekend work to meet client operational needs and respond to emergency situations.
