Job Title- Installer / Builder Level 3

Job Description-

Duties included but are not limited to installing/removing bays, shelves and circuit card assemblies. Physical install, cable runs, cable stitching for Telecommunication projects. Ability to work in overhead cable racks, as well as running and lacing Ethernet, fiber & power cables. Wire wrap, drilling floors, pulling long lengths of heavy cables. Must understand & follow detailed method of procedures (MOP) and Safety MTCE Window requirements.

Know the color code associated with telecommunications cables.

Key Skills & Knowledge-

• Proficiency A strong understanding of the Telcordia GR-1275 standard for Central Office installation and quality standards.
• Telecommunications Equipment: Experience with various equipment, including Nortel, Gen Band, Ribbon equipment.
• Power and Fiber Optics: Deep knowledge of
  -48V power principles, continuity testing, and fiber installation techniques.
• Tools and Equipment: Proficient use of hand tools, power tools (like bandsaws and hammer drills), crimpers, and specialized test equipment (like OTDRs).
• Safety: Strict adherence to safety protocols, performing daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and understanding safe work practices around live equipment.
• Professionalism: Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to professionalism and quality.

• Extensive Travel: Requires significant travel away from home and the ability to work in various environments, including tight spaces and potentially at heights.
• Physical Demands: Involves physically demanding work, including lifting and moving equipment minimum of 50 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. with assistance as necessary. Ability to climb ladders and steep staircases. Ability to work outside normal business hours (MTCE) window as dictated by project requirements.
