Software Development Engineer in Test; SDET

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Automation / Quality Engineer to join our team in an on-site role in Dallas, TX. This position focuses on microservices, API testing, automation frameworks, and CI/CD integration, supporting complex enterprise applications. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on coding skills, deep QA expertise, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

• Design, develop, and execute automated tests for microservices and REST APIs
• Build, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks
• Perform API testing using Java, Groovy, Python, Spock, TestNG, Cucumber, and BDD tools
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Conduct end-to-end testing across all SDLC phases and test cycles
• Analyze requirements and application architecture to ensure comprehensive test coverage
• Document defects clearly and track them using Jira or similar tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases
• (Preferred) Provide guidance or leadership to QA resources when needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in Software QA / Quality Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Groovy, Python
• Proven expertise in REST API development and testing
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated test integration
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Test Rail, or similar test management tools
• Familiarity with all major test cycles:
  Unit, Regression, Functional, System, Performance, Volume, UAT
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Exposure to AI-driven testing is a plus
• Prior QA leadership experience (2–4 years) is a plus
