About the role

As a Senior Progress Open Edge Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Progress Open Edge technologies. You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross‑functional IT teams to deliver high‑quality solutions aligned to business needs.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress 4GL/Open Edge
• Build and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrations
• Develop object‑oriented Open Edge solutions leveraging modern design practices
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and provide ongoing support

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Progress Open Edge development
• Strong proficiency in Progress Open Edge (11.7 & 12.2), 4GL, PASOE, App Server, and GUI programming
• Proven experience with object‑oriented programming in Open Edge
• Hands‑on experience building web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrations
• Strong experience with performance tuning, debugging, and application optimization
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to work in cross‑functional teams
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Deliver high‑quality Open Edge application development across the full SDLC
• Drive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSON
• Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Provide production support and resolve complex technical issues
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and web technologies
• Experience with .NET Open Client development
• Knowledge of Claims domain
• Experience with API programming
• Familiarity with SVN and SQL
• Extend solutions to modern web‑based integrations
• Support hybrid architectures through .NET interoperability
• Bring domain expertise to accelerate delivery in claims‑based environments
• Strengthen API‑driven architectures
• Improve development efficiency using version control and database best practices

On site. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client office in Plano, TX.
