Golang API Engineer — Onsite in Plano

Golang Developer – Contract (1 Year + Possible Extension)

Location:

Plano, TX (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $60-65 an hour on W2 (DOE)

• Design and develop REST and gRPC application programming interfaces (APIs) and web services.
• Build and maintain reusable frameworks and components to support global delivery requirements.
• Develop and maintain REST API documentation using Swagger, along with overall design documentation.
• Create and manage Protocol Buffer (Proto) files for gRPC services.
• Perform thorough documentation, testing, and validation of changes or enhancements prior to release.
• Troubleshoot issues and debug existing codebases efficiently.
• Work with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including services such as EKS.
• Maintain and enhance existing codebases; conduct peer code reviews to ensure code quality.
• Ensure API layer compliance with security, monitoring, analytics, and throttling requirements.
• Collaborate with team leads and members to meet project deliverables and milestone deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration.

• 5-8 years of software development experience, including at least 3-4 years of hands‑on experience with Golang.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with exposure to Dev Ops and cloud engineering practices.
• Strong understanding of clean architecture principles, API design, debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
