Senior Software Engineer

Overview

We are Toyota Financial Services (TFS), the finance and insurance brand for Toyota and Lexus in North America. TFS is a separate business entity that drives Toyota’s vision for mobility by delivering best‑in‑class customer experiences in an innovative, collaborative environment.

The position is a full stack Software Development Engineer II located in Plano, TX. This role focuses on transforming TFS core systems into agile, cloud‑native, service‑oriented platforms.

• Develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and the Spring Framework.
• Build responsive UI components with React and modern JavaScript/Type Script.
• Design and implement microservices, REST APIs, and event‑driven components following layered and client‑server architecture patterns.
• Deliver cloud‑ready solutions using AWS SDK and services such as S3, Document
  
  DB, Aurora, and Amazon MSK.
• Deploy containerized applications to Amazon EKS using Docker, with CI/CD support via Jenkins and Artifactory.
• Write robust tests using JUnit, Mockito, Ready API, Postman, and Selenium to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Work with No
  
  SQL databases, implement effective caching strategies, and manage builds using Maven and Git Hub.
• Document and test APIs with Swagger and participate in peer reviews, architecture sessions, and production support.
• Champion best practices in Dev Ops, code quality, and scalable design.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Experience with AWS services including EKS, S3, MSK, Document
  
  DB, and Elasti Cache.
• Solid background in microservices, event‑driven architecture, and cloud‑native design.
• Familiarity with No
  
  SQL databases, caching, and real‑time streaming.
• Strong experience with Docker, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Artifactory), and Git.
• Hands‑on testing with JUnit, Mockito, and API testing tools.
• Bonus: experience with Amazon Corretto, Netty, Tomcat, or embedded server configurations.
• Bonus: familiarity with Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK) and Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Bonus: exposure to Ready API and service‑level test automation.
