Algorithm Senior Systems Engineer

What You Will Do:

• Perform system level performance analysis to evaluate and optimize advanced airborne sensor capabilities
• Develop, refine, and analyze algorithms to support mission‑critical aerospace applications
• Conduct trade studies to compare technical approaches and guide engineering decisions
• Build statistical models and performance predictions for complex, multidisciplinary systems
• Execute detailed data analyses following Raytheon engineering processes and best practices
• Participate in formal and informal peer reviews; identify, track, and resolve technical issues
• Provide clear, timely task status updates and deliver high quality work products to the team lead
• Interface daily with engineering teammates, team leads, and cross‑functional partners to ensure technical alignment
• Support customer and program presentations by contributing technical content and insights
• Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes

• Typically requires a degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models, Detection Theory, or Machine Learning
• Mathematical modeling and analytical problem‑solving skills
• UNIX/Linux environments
• Programming experience in C or C++, and hands‑on experience using MATLAB or Python for data analysis
• Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
• Knowledge developing signal processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, including signal and image processing, physics‑constrained modeling, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, or AI/ML model development and training techniques
• Realtime programming for embedded or mission‑critical systems
• Experience using software change management tools, version control systems, and established software development processes

Salary range: 86,800 USD – 165,200 USD.
