Principal Software Engineer

Overview

Toyota Financial Services' Enterprise Tools Department is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to build world‑class platform engineering capabilities with a focus on CI/CD pipelines and testing tool automation.

• Design and develop enterprise‑wide test automation platforms.
• Implement a strategic roadmap for CI/CD pipelines and testing tools automation domains.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve offerings.
• Drive self‑service and automation initiatives across supported technology areas.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce manual effort through automation.
• Champion adoption of self‑service tools and platforms to empower employees.

• Significant experience designing, developing, and maintaining cloud‑native platforms and services (AWS or other major cloud providers).
• Strong understanding of event‑driven architecture and building event‑based platforms using tools such as Kafka.
• Proficient in programming and scripting languages:
  Java, Python, JavaScript.
• Experience with modern web frameworks (Next.js, React, Vue).
• Hands‑on experience with test‑driven development (TDD) and multiple test automation frameworks and reporting tools.
• Knowledge of diverse testing approaches (AI testing, UI automation, performance testing) and end‑to‑end test automation.
• Experience with test parallelization and optimization techniques.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Harness, Jenkins, or Git Hub Actions, including configuration, customization, and integration.
• Practical experience with AWS services: EKS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3.
• Bonus: proficiency with infrastructure‑automation tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation, CDK, Code Deploy).
• Bonus: experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, Fargate).
• Experience building internal developer platforms or tool ecosystems.
• Must have right to work in the United States and not require visa sponsorship.
