About the Role
We are looking for an Algorithms Senior Software Engineer to work on software applications for missiles, launchers, radars, and naval systems. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing algorithms for high‑performance computing and real‑time embedded systems.
Responsibilities- Work alongside scientists (physicists, mathematicians, signal‑processing experts, and others) to understand algorithm goals and limitations.
- Optimize software for performance, including parallel processing and leveraging GPUs and other processing accelerators.
- Utilize expertise in mathematics and physics to achieve optimal performance.
- Evolve algorithms originating in Python and MATLAB into optimized C, C++, and CUDA code.
- Model and test new algorithms in high‑performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Scale processing implementations to run extensive tests and simulations using hundreds to thousands of processing cores.
- Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated real‑time software within heterogeneous systems.
- Work within a cross‑discipline team to define, refine, and improve product concept, implementation, testability, and guaranteed, measurable quality.
- Contribute to proposals as well as preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Collaborate on site with customers, including occasional travel.
- Must Have – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another STEM related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in developing, testing, and integrating real‑time software applications written in C, C++ or closely related languages.
- Development experience on Linux‑based systems.
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Preferred – Established background in mathematics and signal‑processing concepts.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
- Experience with product development utilizing Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
- Hands‑on experience with Git for version control and Git Lab/Jira for repository and issue management.
- Experience working with massively parallel code streams.
- Experience with optimized CUDA programming for Nvidia accelerators.
- Prior work in HPC environments.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and other analysis tools.
Active and transferable Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required.
LocationPlano, Texas, USA (onsite).
Salary$86,800 – $165,200 USD.
