- Design and build high‑quality front‑end features using modern React and Next.js patterns, with a strong eye for performance and user experience.
- Build and maintain backend API services that support front‑end product needs, including RESTful and GraphQL endpoints.
- Take ownership of features from design through deployment — including testing, observability, and post‑launch monitoring.
- Participate actively in technical design discussions, contributing well‑reasoned proposals and trade‑off analysis.
- Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across the front‑end and API layers — from UI rendering bugs to slow API responses.
- Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and hold a high bar in code reviews.
- Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver impactful features.
- Identify and address tech debt, performance issues, and reliability gaps proactively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong front‑end focus.
- Solid expertise in React and Next.js, including SSR, SSG, App Router, and client/server component patterns.
- Strong proficiency in Type Script.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS and component libraries like shadcn/ui or similar.
- Familiarity with state management using Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or equivalent.
- Experience with schema validation using Zod or similar libraries.
- Ability to design and build RESTful and GraphQL APIs, with solid understanding of API contracts, error handling, and type safety.
- Experience deploying and working with front‑end applications on AWS, including Cloud Front for CDN and edge caching, Lambda@Edge or Cloud Front Functions for serverless edge logic, S3 for static asset hosting, and API Gateway + Lambda for serverless API services.
- Good understanding of front‑end performance: code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies (SWR, React Query), and Core Web Vitals.
- Experience debugging across the stack using browser devtools, network inspection, and log analysis.
- Experience with testing: unit (Vitest/Jest), component (Testing Library), and E2E (Playwright/Cypress).
- Clear communicator — comfortable discussing technical decisions with teammates and stakeholders.
- Experience in the financial services, banking, or insurance industry.
- Familiarity with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx) and modern build systems (Vite, esbuild).
- Experience with event‑driven architecture on AWS using Event Bridge, SQS, or SNS.
- Exposure to design system contribution or component library development.
- Experience with React Native or cross‑platform mobile development.
- Exposure to GenAI tooling integration in front‑end products.
