Software Engineer II- Java

This role focuses on developing and delivering complex software solutions that meet functional, non‑functional, and compliance requirements. The engineer will code, unit test, and ensure integration of solutions into the overall system.

• Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Utilize multiple architectural components across data, application, and business layers when designing and developing client requirements.
• Perform Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) activities.
• Contribute to story refinement and definition of requirements.
• Estimate the work necessary to realize a story or requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
• Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance); analyze test reports; identify test issues and triage underlying causes.
• Perform spikes or proofs of concept as needed to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a Java/J2EE developer with Spring, Apache Camel, CXF, Mule Soft, RESTful services, and SOAP services.
• Proven ability to work self‑motivated as an individual contributor while managing multiple priorities and deliverables.
• Experience collaborating directly with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate business and technical requirements, participate in requirement‑gathering sessions, and clarify ambiguities.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing middleware API services and integration solutions.
• Ability to evaluate technical challenges and recommend scalable, efficient, and supportable solution designs.
• Experience creating technical design documents, architecture diagrams, and development specifications.
• Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile practices.
• Active participation in Agile ceremonies, story refinement, estimation, sprint planning, and delivery activities.
• Hands‑on experience with unit testing, component integration testing, system integration testing, and production implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with distributed or onshore technology teams.
• Ownership mindset with tracking tasks to completion and providing status updates to stakeholders.
• Experience supporting code deployments, release activities, post‑production validation, and defect resolution.
• Experience building large‑scale, enterprise‑grade, multi‑threaded applications focused on performance, scalability, and resiliency.
• Strong background with relational databases (DB2, SQL development, data modeling, advanced query optimization).
• Ability to integrate data, application, and business architecture components into end‑to‑end technology solutions.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Flexibility to support global teams and work across varying schedules or shifts as business needs require.

• Financial industry experience.
• Proficiency in Application Development Automation, Collaboration, Dev Ops Practices, Solution Design, Agile Practices, Architecture, Result Orientation, Solution Delivery Process, User Experience Design, Analytical Thinking, Data Management, Risk Management, Technical Strategy Development, Test Engineering.
