Java Application Programmer

Genesis
10 is currently seeking a Java Application Programmer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX. This is a 12 month contract opportunity.

This role is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining applications within the Financial Crimes technology domain. The ideal candidate will design, code, test, and debug programs while working closely with business partners to define system requirements. This position requires utilizing in-depth knowledge of business environments and technological alternatives to provide innovative solutions and support the full development lifecycle in an Agile setting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop complex requirements, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications to accomplish business goals
• Design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for maintaining the application
• Work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of business requirements, business environments, and technological alternatives to recommend innovations
• Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements and estimate work necessary to realize a story/requirement
• Perform proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
• Set up and automate continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline
• Handle technical aspects of the application, including Change Management, Maintenance, and Platform Upgrades
• Demonstrate data sourcing, data analysis and modeling skills to build innovative data provisioning models
• Promote and apply best practices and standards at a project and program level
• Analyze present-state, develop alternative future-state approaches and facilitate implementation
• Effectively communicate with managers, peers and business partners on deliverables and timelines

Requirements:

• 10 years of applicable experience
• 7 years of experience in Java, J2EE, Spring framework, Hibernate, MVC, Tomcat, Weblogic, UNIX Shell scripting, Oracle 11g, and Data analysis
• Experience with Angular JS, Web services, Maven, Jenkins, Bit Bucket, and Autosys (or any scheduling tool)
• Experience in design, development and support of application solutions with a focus on Web-based applications with J2EE architecture and Single Page Application Frameworks
• Expert in development of Multi-Tier applications using J2EE frameworks MVC, Spring, and Hibernate
• Knowledge and experience working with SQL, Stored Procedures, composite data virtualization and performance tuning
• Knowledge and experience working with Test Driven Development and JUnit
• Experience in SDLC, Agile, Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery, and change management
• Good knowledge of Unix and understanding of shell scripts
• Effective communication and listening skills

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
