Cloud Platform Engineer

This position is for the design, build, and ongoing engineering of an Internal Cloud Platform’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capability. The role enables application teams to deploy and operate applications without managing the underlying infrastructure. The engineer will ensure the platform meets enterprise requirements for availability, scalability, security, and developer experience while integrating with the broader internal cloud ecosystem.

• Engineer and evolve Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) foundations based on VMware Tanzu Application Server (TAS).
• Define and implement platform integration patterns across the VMware stack.
• Own the platform architecture, configuration standards, and engineering patterns.
• Enable secure and scalable application runtimes for development teams.
• Support application onboarding and modernization to the PaaS model.
• Collaborate with platform automation, SRE, and operations teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and lifecycle management.

• 4–5 years of experience engineering or operating Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, application runtimes, and platform architecture.
• Familiarity with VMware, virtualization concepts, and internal cloud platforms.
• Experience supporting developer onboarding, CI/CD integration, and application runtime platforms.

• Direct experience with VMware Tanzu Application Service (TAS) or Cloud Foundry.
• 5-7+ years supporting enterprise PaaS or internal developer platforms.
• PaaS, cloud platform, or Dev Ops certification.
• Experience modernizing applications to PaaS models in regulated enterprises.
