Overview
Support warehouse operations by transporting materials over designated routes; ensuring safe operation of vehicles. Provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of orders. Ensure that material loaded on the truck is as listed on the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest and is secured for safe transport from store to destination. Unload materials for customers at each delivery location in an orderly fashion while verifying that material is correct based on the Ship Ticket.
Perform daily detailed inspection of vehicle to ensure general maintenance and safety of vehicle. Responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing products for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in an orderly fashion.
- Transport materials on designated routes and operate vehicles safely.
- Provide prompt and courteous delivery service to customers.
- Verify loaded materials against the Ship Ticket and Delivery Manifest; secure cargo for transport.
- Unload materials at delivery locations in an orderly fashion and confirm accuracy against Ship Tickets.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure maintenance and safety.
- Manage all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing products for delivery; maintain an orderly warehouse.
This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates offered employment must undergo a pre-employment drug test. The test screens for drugs including amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamines, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidines, following the cutoff levels set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Driver's License in state of residence with 3 years driving history.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no type A violations; or no more than one type B violation in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the past 36 months operating a commercial motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more (preferred).
- Read, comprehend, write, perform calculations, input accurately, reason, and analyze.
- Ability to function independently and complete various tasks with close attention to detail.
Frequent driving is required in all types of weather conditions. Must adhere to proper safety regulations with occasional exposure to excessive noise and moving machinery. Frequently walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and reach. Regular handling of objects and lifting up to 75 pounds. Physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle by the medical qualification standards in 49 CFR Part 391.41.
A Department of Transportation (USDOT) physical exam will be conducted by a licensed medical examiner. The USDOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Regulation (49 CFR Part 40) applies; medical marijuana is not recognized as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test result for transportation employees.
