Job Description Summary

Position:
Class A Delivery Driver (Equipment Rental)

• Deliver and recover equipment at the customer site.
• Load, unload, and secure the equipment.
• Transport equipment and supplies locally or over long distances.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on malfunctioning equipment at the jobsite.
• Conduct daily commercial vehicle inspections and complete necessary repairs to ensure operational safety.
• Demonstrate and adhere to Customer Service Standards for delivery service.
• Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pickup and exchange forms.
• Explain proper and safe equipment usage to customers at the point of delivery.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager or authorized personnel.
• Complete inspection reports, log books, and trip sheets in accordance with D.O.T. and company record‑keeping requirements.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Proficient in reading, writing, and effective communication.
• Valid Driver’s license with Class A CDL certification and DOT Physical Examination (Medical card).
• Working knowledge of Motor Carrier Safety regulations and DOT guidelines.
• Familiarity with local major and minor roadways and ability to use maps and directions efficiently for delivery routing.
• Experience driving delivery trucks, towing tandem‑axle utility trailers, and towable construction equipment within high‑traffic or congested city zones and small areas.
• Prior training or experience with similar commercial equipment (preferred).
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, or community members.
• Ability to present information effectively to upper management.
• Competence in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning ability: define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Two years of over‑the‑road experience operating combination commercial vehicles (preferred).
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Maintain a safe driving record and demonstrate defensive driving techniques to protect equipment and other drivers.
• High level of safety awareness on the roadways.
• Positive “Can Do” attitude and willingness to exceed customer expectations.
• Mechanical ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment and vehicle.
• Experience operating heavy construction machinery within the rental industry and understanding of load securement and transport.

Base Pay Range: $27.07 – $40.59 per hour (starting rate may vary by location, education, training, and experience).
