Description
Reporting structure:
- Reports to Stockroom Supervisor
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely shipment and receipt of materials, parts, and finished goods in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. This position supports warehouse operations by maintaining inventory accuracy, providing documentation, and communicating effectively with internal departments and carriers.
Requirements Shipping Responsibilities- Pack product per customer and carrier requirements ensuring damage-free delivery.
- Create and apply correct shipping labels.
- Schedule and prepare shipments for pickup according to carrier schedules.
- Coordinate with Production Control and QA to ensure readiness of finished goods.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records in ERP system.
- Ensure neat and organized shipping area and enforce safety and operational policies.
- File claims for missing, damaged, or short shipments.
- Support other shipping functions as directed.
- Receive incoming goods and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Identify, inspect, and report damaged or incorrect shipments.
- Enter receipt data into ERP system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate with suppliers, QA, and purchasing to resolve issues.
- Organize and store received materials in designated locations.
- Assist with checking in consigned parts.
- Support documentation control (scanning, archiving) and AS9102 traceability.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Basic understanding of BOMs and drawings.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (data entry, transaction processing).
- Ability to operate printers, scanners, and counting machines.
- Must be dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred: 1+ years in a shipping/receiving role
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders
- Sufficient eyesight to read component codes
- Ability to distinguish colors sufficient to discern component values
- Active warehouse environment. Can be noisy and fast paced
- Working with and around people throughout the day.
- Workloads fluctuate, which can be stressful at times
- Overtime may be required at times.
- Safety Glasses required when handling alcohol or conformal coat material
- Ladder safety training required
