Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of audit and other attest assignments as designated by the Supervisor or Manager. At this level, the Senior Accountant should function with minimal supervision and focus on supervising and mentoring Staff, independent problem solving, strengthening client relationships, and increasing team profitability. The role primarily supports audit clients and develops audit‑specific technical expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Complete audit and/or attest projects for designated clients with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews and accept increasing responsibility for engagement management.
  • Identify potential problem areas during engagements and propose effective solutions.
  • Conduct business‑specific research – gather and analyze data, interpret results, compile reports, and make recommendations.
  • Develop, strengthen, and maintain client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service‑oriented approach.
  • Enhance skills in the industries the firm focuses on by completing relevant training courses.
  • Increase team profitability by managing time and staff efficiently, contributing ideas, and adding value.
  • Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
  • Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus).
  • 2‑3 years of experience in public accounting or an appropriate balance of education and work experience.
  • Ability to sit for the CPA exam or having passed sections of the CPA exam is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and auditing rules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and accuracy in work.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and follow‑through skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a fast‑paced and varied workload and manage concurrent priorities.
  • Openness to constructive feedback and ability to adjust accordingly.
  • Collaborative mindset fostering a productive, team‑oriented environment.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and report‑writing tools.
  • Professional demeanor with co‑workers and clients.
  • Ability to meet internal firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel domestically if required.
  • Experience with any of the following (helpful but not mandatory):
    Affordable Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Opportunity Zones (OZ), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), Historical Tax Credits (HTC), HUD, New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Real Estate, Developers, Partnerships, Housing Authority (HA), Public Housing Authority, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), Community Development Entity Certification Applications (CDE), Property Compliance, Nonprofit, Single Audit, Uniform Guidance, A‑133, Forecasting, Cost Segregation, Year
    15 Exit, Tax‑exempt bond, and HOME programs.
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $77,000 to $94,000 depending on experience. Additional raises may apply.
