Schedule & Location

Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm EST or Central Standard Time. The role is located on-site at our corporate office in Plantation, FL and Overland Park, KS.

Job Description

The Pharmacy Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for performing the day‑to‑day prompt and proper daily reconciliation of major medical and pharmacy claims payments for accounts receivable. This position maintains the integrity of cash and A/R transactions to ensure maximum efficiency and accuracy of accounts receivable balances, processes ERA, EFT, lockbox, and maintains petty cash while following all cash‑related procedures and financial control policies set by the finance department.

Key duties include:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily deposits and maintain deposit batch sheets.
  • Set up cash batches in the billing system.
  • Receive Lock‑Box deposits with proper backup/patient identification.
  • Reconcile posted checks with deposited checks.
  • Review claim rejections/denials, analyze EOBs, and make appropriate corrections.
  • Post cash and credit card payments to patient accounts.
  • Apply payments from EOBs, claims, and other documents to the proper patient account.
  • Enter contractual adjustments from EOBs.
  • Flag payments with contractual adjustments above 10% for collections.
  • Post denials and zero payments.
  • Process incoming correspondence and documentation.
  • Compile and sort invoices and check copies.
  • Process write‑offs per internal policies.
  • Communicate with field, pharmacy staff, and patients as needed.

    Writes clearly and informatively, edits for spelling and grammar, varies style to meet needs, and presents numerical data effectively.

Pay Range/Rate

$24 – $26 USD per hour.

Physical Demands

The physical demands required include occasional standing, walking, sitting, and hand use. The employee may also need to climb stairs, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Requirements
  • Participate annually in required legal and ethical compliance training.
  • Consistently act in compliance with LUX Infusion’s legal, ethical, and compliance policies.
  • Adhere to all standards and procedures outlined in the LUX Infusion Compliance Manual.
