Brauser Maimonides Academy (BMA) is a private Jewish day school located in the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood area, serving students from early childhood through middle school. Rooted in Jewish values, BMA provides a nurturing and structured environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of every student.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary School Behavioral Specialist to support students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. This professional will work closely with classroom teachers, principals and the Counseling and Wellbeing Department to develop, implement, and monitor behavioral supports that promote student success.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong relationship‑building skills, empathy, discretion, and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, and families. Prior experience working in an elementary school setting is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe students in the classroom and collect behavioral data (focus on K–2 grades)
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans and data tracking systems
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed in collaboration with the counseling team and principals
  • Provide support and consultation to teachers on classroom management and behavioral strategies
  • Work with students individually and/or in small groups to build behavioral skills
  • Collaborate with faculty, administration, and families to support student growth and consistency across settings
Qualifications
  • Certificate, bachelor’s, or associate’s degree in behavioral health or related field
  • Relevant experience working with elementary‑aged children, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment
  • Additional certifications in behavioral or educational support are a plus

Must be authorized to work in the United States.
