Autocad Drafter

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD Designer to join our design team. You will be responsible for creating and modifying 2D and 3D engineering drawings that support gas distribution and telecommunications design projects. You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure all drawings meet client specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

+ Create, edit, and update 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD for gas and telecom infrastructure projects.

+ Work with engineers and project managers to develop accurate, efficient, and compliant designs.

+ Interpret sketches, field data, and technical information to produce detailed drawings and plans.

+ Maintain drawing consistency and ensure adherence to company drafting standards.

+ Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before submittal.

+ Revise and update existing drawings based on redlines, design changes, or field feedback.

+ Manage and organize CAD files to maintain version control and document integrity.

+ Coordinate with permitting and field teams to ensure designs align with regulatory and site requirements.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience for underground utilities.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D).

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.

+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical documentation.

+ Excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

+

Experience with Micro Station, Civil 3D, or GIS mapping tools is a plus.

+ Familiarity with permitting drawings, utility standards, or DOT plan sets is a plus.

+ Knowledge of gas distribution and telecom network design principles is a plus.

The position is based in Plantation, FL, and operates full-time during standard business hours. The work environment is office-based, with coordination across multiple teams. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plantation, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
