We are seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). About the Role:

The Physical Therapy Assistant plays an essential role in supporting licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, ensuring patients perform therapeutic exercises safely and effectively to improve mobility and reduce pain. The Physical Therapy Assistant works closely with patients in outpatient settings, providing compassionate care while adhering to universal precautions to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.

By assisting with patient education and monitoring progress, the Physical Therapy Assistant contributes to optimizing rehabilitation outcomes and enhancing patients' quality of life. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, physical stamina for lifting and carrying heavy weights, and the ability to adapt to diverse patient needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the United States.
• Basic knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and physical therapy modalities.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists.
• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy weights as required by patient care activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
• Familiarity with voluntary insurance programs related to physical therapy services.
• Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
• Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or patient safety.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation software.

Responsibilities:

• Assist Physical Therapists in executing individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper technique and safety.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment by following universal precautions and infection control protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide compassionate support and education.
• Handle equipment setup, maintenance, and assist with lifting or transferring patients as needed in an outpatient setting.
• Participate in voluntary insurance programs and administrative tasks related to patient care documentation.
