The Licensed Optician delivers the brand value proposition and helps establish Lens Crafters as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community. The role creates exceptional value for customers by delivering legendary customer service and perfectly crafted, high‑quality eyewear that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities- Welcome all customers and set expectations.
- Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen.
- Take and record measurements, accurately adjust/fit eyewear with attention to detail, and ensure finished items meet standards and customer needs.
- Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
- Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume; demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and use appropriate tools.
- Proactively explore root causes of issues, think forward, and ensure customer satisfaction and exceeded expectations in a solution‑driven manner.
- Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage time amid competing priorities.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Maintain store appearance, keep the store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Be resourceful, self‑motivated, and committed to continual learning, improvement, and results.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- State licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: effective communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
- Embrace new technology and change.
- Previous customer service and retail experience.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
