Position:Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology
The Department of Biology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology. This is a one-year, full-time, nine-month position starting in August 2025.
Responsibilities:- A minimum of a Master’s degree in biology, anatomy, physiology, or a closely related field is required. A Doctorate or terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, DC, DPT, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong commitment to undergraduate education and collaboration with students and faculty.
- Ability to teach undergraduate courses in biology, including anatomy & physiology.
- Experience teaching undergraduate courses during graduate school or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant, or two years’ industry-related experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The Department of Biology in the College of Business, Industry, Life Sciences and Agriculture has 12 full-time tenure-track positions, along with additional instructional staff and support staff. The undergraduate program offers a BS in Biology with various emphases. The department emphasizes experiential learning, with well-equipped labs and classrooms. The campus is located in Southwest Wisconsin’s largest community, offering excellent amenities and a vibrant community life.
