Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin–Platteville invites applications for open Lecturer positions in College Writing within the English program in the Humanities department. These positions would primarily support in-person instruction of first-year College Writing courses on the UW-Platteville campus.
We are seeking individuals interested in teaching undergraduate courses as instructional needs arise. Candidates will be considered based on departmental needs and enrollment demands. The ideal instructor is passionate about teaching undergraduate students and interested in interdisciplinary course instruction and design.
Key
Job Responsibilities:
Teach first-year College Writing courses.
Facilitate classroom instruction for one or more undergraduate courses on the Platteville, Wisconsin campus.
Evaluate and assess student performance.
Maintain regular office hours and support student success.
Participate in discussions on curriculum improvement and student learning assessment, as needed.
Contribute to a collaborative departmental teaching environment.
Evaluate and assess student performance.
Required Qualifications Master’s degree in English or a closely related field.
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the college level is preferred.
Strong commitment to undergraduate education and collaboration with students and faculty.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
