Position: Lecturer of Computer Science and

Position Summary

Lecturer in Computer Science and Software Engineering with a 9‑month, full‑time, benefit‑eligible appointment, emphasizing Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in CS and SE, provide AI‑focused instruction, and support lower‑division computing courses to enhance learning for students in CS, SE, Cybersecurity, and related programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in computer science and/or software engineering, including introductory and intermediate‑level courses.
  • Teach or support AI‑related courses and curriculum such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, big data, or applied computing topics, depending on departmental need and candidate expertise.
  • Use modern, inclusive, and student‑centered teaching practices to support students with a wide range of preparation and backgrounds.
  • Contribute to course development, assessment, and continuous improvement of the CSSE curriculum.
  • Participate in department activities related to student success, outreach, and program development appropriate for a teaching‑focused appointment.
  • Assist with the CSSE community in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and civil environment.
  • Provide a criminal background check and demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S. at time of hire.
Qualifications and Eligibility

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the U.S. at the time of hire and be willing to undergo a criminal background check. Current employees of the University of Wisconsin system must apply through Workday under the internal application process.
