The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking an Instructional Designer and Artificial Intelligence Coordinator to support innovative teaching and learning initiatives across the institution. This role will design, develop, and enhance instructional activities, programs, and curricula while partnering with faculty to apply evidence-based learning theory, instructional design models, and emerging educational technologies. You will also lead efforts to support the effective and responsible use of Generative AI in higher education by providing consultation, developing resources, and delivering professional development for faculty and students.
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit and paid leave eligible position with a starting salary of $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Position Title:
Instructional Designer and Artificial Intelligence Coordinator
Specialist Level: III
Key Job Responsibilities- AI professional and instructional development support Plan, develop and implement faculty development initiatives and professional engagement activities related to Generative AI in Higher Education.
- Provide accessible and individualized mentorship and consultation to faculty on pedagogical approaches, learning assessment strategies, and instructional challenges related to Generative AI.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate current research, trends and best practices related to online learning and AI in order to ensure programs and consultations reflect effective approaches to teaching and learning.
- Design and curate just-in-time online resources related to Generative AI and AI literacy, including tutorials, templates, asynchronous book groups, and guides, that provide faculty and students with immediate, self-directed support for course development, teaching and learning needs.
- Help integrate AI tools into institutional operations while ensuring alignment with the UW System strategic priorities, data governance policies, and academic mission.
- Collaborate with librarians and faculty to design AI literacy instruction and resources for students in order to promote baseline critical thinking around the use,
