We seek a skilled GASTROENTEROLOGIST to join a progressive 300-bed community hospital on a plush 45-acre campus, complete with ponds and walking paths. Join a peer Gastroenterologist in a broad scope hospital-based service caring for an established and growing patient population. Expect an interesting mix as GI Hospitalist/inpatient consultant and clinic-based specialist. ERCP and EUS are optional and welcome.

Your role includes diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders and conditions as well as endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. The Endoscopy teams here are recognized by the American Society of Gastroenterology Endoscopy for a demonstrated commitment to specialized training, adherence to guidelines on privileging, quality assurance and reprocessing, and infection control guidelines.

Call is shared 1:5 by a collegial group that includes 3 GIs in private practice. Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with state-of-the-art tools and facilities. This is a vibrant Level III trauma center affiliated with the University of Vermont (a Level I trauma center 1 hour to the east) a leader in patient care, medical education and research. You will serve an important educational role and may have a faculty appointment (at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, based on your credentials).The

hospital has a reputable procedural program with a large referral base, and excellent inpatient and outpatient facilities to deliver a broad spectrum of high-quality gastroenterology care. This GI practice is part of an integrated academic division serving 6 hospitals in Vermont and New York. The Plattsburgh facility includes 9 state-of-the-art ORs, an ambulatory surgery center, and endoscopy suites. The EMR (EPIC) is available in clinic and inpatient settings, and with all campuses throughout the system.
