About the Position
Description
A healthcare facility in Plattsburgh, New York is seeking a Locum Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient consults and perform endoscopic procedures in a hospital-based environment.
The physician will manage gastrointestinal conditions, conduct diagnostic procedures, and collaborate with advanced practice providers to deliver comprehensive patient care. This opportunity offers procedural variety with flexible weekly coverage.

Job Responsibilities
Perform endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures
Provide inpatient gastroenterology consults
Round on hospitalized GI patients
Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal disorders
Respond to urgent or emergent GI cases
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Maintain documentation using Epic EMR
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist
Completion of Gastroenterology Fellowship
Active medical license or eligibility to obtain
BLS and ACLS certification
PALS certification preferred
Working Hours
Approximately one week of coverage per month
Daily schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Call coverage included (select 24-hour call shifts)
Assignment period:
May 18, 2026 – December 31, 2026
