Gastroenterology Physician

Locums - Plattsburgh, New York, Gastroenterology Opening

Clinical Role:

• Coverage Dates:
  May 18, 2026 - December 31, 2026

• Seeking one locum provider able to cover approximately 1 week per month

• Coverage to begin as soon as credentialing is complete

• Schedule:
  
  7:30am-5:00pm

• Typical structure may include:

  • Morning procedures (approximately 7:30am-12:00pm)

  • Afternoon rounding and consults (approximately 1:00pm-5:00pm)

• Expected 7 days of coverage (Monday-Sunday) during assigned week

• Combination of scheduled procedures, inpatient consults, and call coverage

• Potential coverage model:

  • Monday-Thursday: inpatient coverage and elective procedures

  • Friday-Sunday: 24-hour call coverage

• Call responsibilities included

Practice Setting:

• Mix of inpatient coverage and elective endoscopy procedures

• Approximately 40 procedures per week (elective plus urgent/emergent inpatient and ER cases)

• Patient load: 10-15 inpatient consults

• Trauma Level III facility

• EMR:
  Epic

• Support staff includes Nurse Practitioner support

• Minimal oversight of inpatient NP required

Required Procedures:

• Endoscopy

• Colonoscopy

Requirements:

• Fellowship in Gastroenterology - Required

• Board Certified or Board Eligible - Required

• BLS - Required

• ACLS - Required

• PALS - Required

• Candidates must have completed fellowship (experience alone will not substitute)
