Academic Success Coach

We are seeking an Academic Success Coach to help students with various topics, including academic progress, course advisement, financial literacy, time management, study skills, and test-taking strategies. This position will report to the Director of Student Support Services (SSS) and is central in advancing student retention, persistence, and degree completion. Student Support Services is part of Access & Opportunity Programs and provides targeted support to low-income and first-generation college students.

The Academic Success Coach is a member of an integrated college success team providing individual academic and personal support to an assigned group of students as they progress through their time at SUNY Plattsburgh. As part of Student Support Services, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others succeed and can effectively coach and collaborate to ensure students meet their optimal potential at SUNY Plattsburgh.

The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed, effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of ARGOS, Banner, Slate, and/or Starfish, understanding the experiences of historically marginalized groups in the U.S. in education, particularly students with disabilities, BIPOC, low-income, and first-generation students, experience working in an academic setting (e.g., academic, admissions, career development, access and opportunity programs).

Salary: $51,261 minimum, plus excellent benefits.
