Special Process Engineer
Tekberry is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Special Process Engineer to support industrial operations within a complex manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating and controlling Special Processes (SP) across the full industrial lifecycle—from design and industrialization through manufacturing, quality, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will serve as a technical expert for special processes, supporting cross-functional teams to ensure robust industrial performance, quality, safety, and compliance while driving process improvements and supporting technology transfers.

ResponsibilitiesIndustrialization & Process Development
- Support concurrent engineering activities by integrating industrial constraints and special process requirements into product design and manufacturing strategies
- Identify and manage industrial risks through Process FMEA and associated action plans
- Define Design for Manufacturing (DFM) rules, tooling requirements, and workstation layouts
- Develop and maintain industrial documentation, including industrial data sheets and Industrial Maturity Follow-Up (IMFU) documentation
- Qualify product and process combinations and validate industrial means
- Conduct line balancing studies, estimate manufacturing times, and optimize workflows
- Support validation activities including FAR, FAI, FMR, and SMR assessments
- Support introduction and validation of new technologies and processes
Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Support production teams in achieving Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives
- Monitor daily process performance and resolve manufacturing issues
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for process non-conformities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, ergonomics, and EHS performance
- Support industrialization of engineering changes, retrofits, and process modifications
- Conduct industrial return-of-experience (REX) assessments and implement lessons learned
Supplier & Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, sourcing, supply chain, and manufacturing teams
- Support supplier qualification, development, and special process implementation activities
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Support technology transfer activities, including documentation, validation, and training
- Train operators, production leaders, and support functions on special process requirements and business rules
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or related field)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial methods, industrial engineering, or manufacturing engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with bonding, painting, or other special manufacturing processes
- Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel
- Experience writing manufacturing work instructions and industrial documentation
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and manufacturing process development
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with a high level of autonomy and rigor
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with in transportation, railway, aviation, bus, automotive, or other industrial manufacturing environments
- Experience with Process FMEA, QRQC, and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP for Bills of Material, routings, and configuration management
- Knowledge of Quality systems, EHS standards, and ergonomics
- Experience with CAD and PLM tools such as CATIA or DELMIA
- Experience participating in technology transfer and industrialization activities
- Proven training and knowledge transfer capabilities
- Experience working within international organizations
