Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry | Plattsburgh, NY (Travel Nursing Job)

Travel RN – Med/Surg Telemetry in Plattsburgh, NY: 16-week travel nursing contract, nights, Epic EMR required, BLS and 1+ year Med/Surg Telemetry experience. Join a collaborative healthcare team on the shores of Lake Champlain near the Adirondack Mountains.

• Duration: 16 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Orientation: 1 day, bi-weekly on Mondays
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and scheduled holidays

• Active New York RN license or proof of application (allow 6-8 weeks for processing) — New York nursing jobs
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in Med/Surg Telemetry (Telemetry Nurse / Med Surg RN)
• At least 1 year of specialty experience required
• American Heart Association BLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required prior to start)
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (required) — experience with electronic medical record systems
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle (public transportation is not available)
• Ability to float between units (R5, R6, R7, and other telemetry units as needed)

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients (ages 25–99) in Med/Surg Telemetry units
• Float between Med Surg Oncology (R5), Med Surg Ortho (R6), Med Surg Urology (R7), and ED Hold as scheduled — resource pool and float RN responsibilities
• Perform unit-specific procedures: peripheral/central IV care, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, glucose monitoring
• Document patient care using the Epic EMR system — accurate charting and handoff communication
• Collaborate with CNAs, PCTs, unit clerks, and respiratory therapists to support patient care
• Maintain nurse-patient ratios (typically 1:4 or 1:5, with adjustments as needed)
• Adhere to professional dress code: navy blue & white scrubs (solid colors in any combination), comfortable shoes, minimal jewelry
• Participate in scheduled rotations, including weekends and holidays
• Support ED HOLD patients as part of the Resource Pool
