Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation and Dispensing:
Accurately prepare and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies for both inpatients and outpatients.
Order Verification:
Review and verify medication orders, ensuring accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with established protocols.
Patient Counseling:
Provide medication counseling to patients, explaining dosage, side effects, and potential interactions.
Inventory Management:
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling.
Quality Assurance:
Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and safety of medication dispensing practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy).
Licensure:
Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in New York State.
Experience:
Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication dispensing practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer proficiency.
Schedule:
Full-time: 40 hours per week.
Primary Shift: Evening (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM).
Secondary
Shifts:
1:00 PM - 9:30 PM and 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (as needed).
Weekend Needs:
Every other weekend.

Clinical Knowledge: A strong understanding of medication therapy management, drug interactions, and adverse drug reactions is crucial.
