Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

A healthcare organization in Northern Vermont is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join its hospital laboratory team in a full-time, night shift role.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity diagnostic testing across multiple laboratory sections
• Process, analyze, and verify patient specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Perform quality control, maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reported results
• Support workflow across departments during fluctuating workloads
• Assist with training and onboarding of new staff and students as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field
• Vermont Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required or eligible
• Hospital laboratory experience preferred
• Blood bank experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to collaborate in a team setting
