The CVPH Gastroenterology team is seeking a passionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality care to adult patients in Plattsburgh, New York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative specialty team that values learning, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
About the RoleThis position offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic care and inpatient consult/rounding. Working closely with Gastroenterologists and fellow APPs, the APP provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of adult GI patients.
Schedule- 36 hours of patient-facing time
- 4 hours of non-patient facing time
- 8-hour days, 5 days per week
- Inpatient coverage of one week every third week, with remaining time spent in clinic. This inpatient rotation is a consistent and expected part of the role and is built into the team's overall coverage model.
- Manage an outpatient panel of GI patients
- Perform inpatient rounding and consultations with physician support
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat GI conditions; order and interpret tests
- Coordinate discharges, follow-up plans, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, APP colleagues, nursing, and support teams
Required
- Licensed NP or PA in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Eligible for DEA registration in NY
- Ability to obtain CVPH privileges
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

- Gastroenterology or acute care experience
