Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in specialty required
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required - EMR:
Experience with EPIC from within the past 2 years is required
- Unit-specific skills:
Insulin drips, cardiac drips, starting IVs, post cardiac catheterization
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to patients in the progressive care unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and response to treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions and care plans.
- Document care accurately in electronic health records.
Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 1-2 days
- Dress Code:
Scrubs (navy blue or white), closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, groomed hair, no artificial nails.
- Transportation:
Reliable transportation is required; public transportation is not accessible in the area.
- Floating
Required:
Yes, travelers will float to appropriate units based on needs.
Patient Population (Diagnoses) - Includes acute coronary syndrome, cardiac diagnosis requiring closer monitoring, drug toxicity, and other complex conditions requiring skilled nursing care.
Special Equipment
- Capacity to manage telemetry monitoring and utilize IV pumps among other critical care equipment.
