Registered Nurse – IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care in a Progressive Care Unit/IMC/Stepdown setting. The role involves monitoring and managing patients with acute conditions requiring close observation and specialized interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement patient care in the PCU/IMC/Stepdown unit.
• Administer medications, including IV drips and cardiac medications, in accordance with physician orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs, and utilize telemetry and other equipment to detect changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient treatments and interventions.
• Document patient progress and responses accurately in the EPIC system.
• Respond promptly to patient emergencies, providing stabilization and support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state registration.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent telemetry or PCU/Stepdown experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS required prior to start.
• Proficient in using EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Experience with insulin, cardiac, and other drips, as well as starting IVs.
• Strong assessment skills and ability to respond to acute changes in patient condition.
