American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care/Intermediate Care position requiring an active NY license, ACLS/NIHSS certification, and prior telemetry experience.
Details- Acute inpatient Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a Level 2 trauma hospital
- Patient population includes ACS, heart failure, post PTCA/stent, drug/ETOH withdrawal, and other cardiac diagnoses requiring close monitoring
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1
- CNA/PCT support of 3 staff per shift and telemetry tech support available
- Documentation via EPIC EMR and MAK medication system
- 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Scheduled Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
- Weekend requirement of approximately every other weekend
- Floating required, primarily to appropriate units as part of the Resource Float team
- No call requirements
- Holiday coverage required if needed
- Active NY RN license (or proof of pending licensure) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start
- Minimum of 1 year telemetry/specialty experience required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Experience with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post cardiac cath care required
- Reliable personal vehicle required due to limited public transportation access
- Vehicle should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during winter months (November-April)
- 1-2 days of orientation provided
- Respiratory therapy support available 24/7; anesthesia support not available on unit
- Only home ventilators managed on the unit
- Dress code includes navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes, minimal jewelry, professional groomed hair, no beard, and no artificial nail polish
- Self-scheduling is not available
- Employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
- First-time travelers may be considered, though prior travel experience is preferred
- Local candidates accepted, with rates tiered based on mileage from the facility
